Assigned to Mithril, a skilled and valued member of the SRT, she’s popular to those around her. Catlike eyes, very short hair is her trademark and body akin to female leopard. Off duty she’s very close to her superior officer, Captain Tessa Testarossa. An expert in engineering, she assisted in the development of the M9 and she is also an expert in the additional areas of electronic warfare and AS operation. Independent and incorrigible, she believes in a woman’s flexibility and cooperation. As such, she takes care of things in a sisterly manner. Passing through Uruz 6 she was promoted to Uruz 2 of the SRT. In the three-man team format of SRT, she often works with Sousuke and Kurz as their reliable “big-sister” figure.
Mao has battlefield experience in the US Marines, which as a general rule does not send women into the front lines. After she received a dishonorable discharge she joined Mithril. The slang and expletives she learned during her rough childhood as well as in the Marines are documented in her “training manual” which she uses to train her subordinates.
