The Lambda Driver
Also known as a “hidden stream repulsion field generation system.” It transforms mental images directly into physical action.
Such a powerful system is unstable due to the operator’s overall mental being during battle. It is quite difficult to concentrate on using the system correcty while trying to defend one’s life. Extreme circumstances are absolutely required - such as eminent death, otherwise a misfire occurs. Other less strenuous requirements for successfully using the device are concentration and discipline.
For Mithril forces, the Lambda Driver is only installed in the ARX-7 Arbalest and later the ARX-8 Leavetein in the novels. Further developments and plans for the Lambda Driver seem to be on the horizon for Mithril. A device for countering the Lambda Driver is certainly in the works. Since Sergeant Sousuke Sagara’s first operating the ARX-7 in the Khanka region the fiber-wiring became molded such that only he may pilot the Arbalest. As such, many in Mithril regard the Lambda Driver as vaguely science fiction and impossible.
