Tall as a model with a nice figure to match, she has long black hair that flows down to her hips – she keeps it tied together with a red ribbon. Kaname, codename Angel, wears the winter uniform of Jindai High School with long sleeve white undershirt, red ‘bowtie’ ribbon, blue lined long sleeve single button jacket, robin egg’s blue skirt, knee high black socks and pink/white shoes. On her sleeves she wears two stripes which signify that she is a second-year student. The school uniform is sometimes featured in magazines and is a popular, cute design. Eyes that reflect determination, striking resemblance to her mother Yuzuri. But tomboyish, acting and speaking tough. So combined with her quick wit, not very feminine. Among the boys at Jindai High School she’s named “The Best Looking Girl You Wouldn’t Want as a Sweetheart.” On top of which, she suffers from very low blood pressure.
Described best as attentive and interested in others, Miss Kaname loves to cook. Popular with others, she serves as class representative and student counsel vice-president. Kaname’s family lives in New York, her father is the United nations’ Environmental High Commisioner. She has a younger sister named Ayame whom is 11 years old, but their mother passed away three years ago. Kaname returned to Japan alone when she was in middle school and has lived by herself in Tokyo ever since.
Kaname is one of the rare “Whispered” who possesses special abilities. As a result, secret organizations from various nations of the world are after her. However, Kaname’s most precious gift is not her “Whispered” ability, but her undying spirit in the face of adversity. It seems that part of this strength was forged during middle school when she was tormented and bullied. Many times she finds herself in dangerous situations, and she has acted in ways unthinkably above an average citizen – including saving Sousuke as well as the Tuatha de Danaan fleet.
After the incident with the Khanka Autonomous State, Kaname learns why she is being targeted. Instead of letting it get her down, she perseveres and goes on with life as usual. The reason is, although she knows little about the war, she can rely on Sousuke who always stays in close proximity.
Located in a relatively quiet neighborhood, Fujiwa apartment complex is located next to the Tamagawa River on the outskirts of Tokyo, called Chofu. A parking lot belonging to a local tennis club comes around the front of the building and across from her apartments is Tiger’s Mansion where the Safe House and Sousuke reside. The Fujiwa building itself is plain and ordinary, strikingly similar to most of the apartment buildings found in Tokyo. Composed of a balcony, living room, three bedrooms, dining room and single bathroom the living area 5-30-3 is more than functional for a single person living on their own.
The balcony is a typical one seen on Japanese apartments, approximately two meters long. The kitchen and living room are connected, and the sofa sits adjacent to the sliding glass door leading out to the balcony. The bathroom runs alongside the kitchen and since Angel’s apartment is on the end of the complex it holds a small window – making it the room requiring the highest level of security. Especially since Angel takes showers first thing in the morning and first thing when she gets home from school.
Angel takes good care of her apartment located on the fourth floor. Her bedroom is the one that faces the window allowing the morning light in. The practicality of furniture can be seen in the ordinary desk, computer stand, bed and small drawers filling the room.
