Pony
The perverted mascot who attacks girls in order to bring back the once popular hairstyle of ponytails. His attacks occur in the dark of night in a predictable attack pattern. The urban legend threat hits way too close to home when Pony victimized Kyoko on her way home one night, pulling her pigtails into a tight ponytail with glue and wire. Sousuke and Kaname decide to take independent action on behalf of their friend whom doesn’t feel remorse or hatred toward her attacker by reporting the case to the police department.
Their good intentions did not work in their favor when they run into the same paranoid policewoman, Youko Wakana, they recently were involved in an entanglement with. Luckily, in Wakana’s drive to reacquire her recent demotion through capturing the Pony, she doesn’t recognize them. Using Kaname as bait, Wakana maps out the next striking location of the predator and they await his appearance there. Sousuke utilizes his new enhanced creation, a Bonta-kun suit, to hide his identity from Wakana ensuring his presence in case of emergency.
During the stake out Wakana and Bonta-kun accidentally cross paths and an all out battle ensues. Commenting that she thought the culprit was a horse, Bonta-kun is suspect as a ‘copy cat’ criminal (no pun intended) and she attacks. Pony finds and pursues Kaname, whom is no longer watched over by either of her protectors as they are engaged in battle with one another. In the pursuit, Pony gets entangled in their crossfire and caught. It appears that Pony and Bonta-kun can understand one another, further fueling Wakana’s desire to arrest him, but an aghast Kaname attests to Bonta-kun being her personal friend. Once the top of the Pony costume is removed, the man responsible confesses to his only objective: to fashion ponytails for the girls out of his sorrow in seeing them die out of style as the years went by. He was imprisoned for his forcible crimes.—fmp_whispered
