Bonta-Kun
In Fumoffu, Bonta-Kun is the theme park mascot for Fumo Fumo Land in Japan. Whether this theme park actually exists in Japan, as Gardaland does in Italy, still yet remains unknown. However, in the truest sense of the basis of the Arm Slave, “Armored Mobile Master-Slave System” the stuffed teddy brings fierce victory to the battleground. The inspiration for the Bonta-Kun character comes from a children’s craft show called Dekiru kana featuring a spotted bear called Gonta-Kun.
When Bonta-Kun first appears in the animated series, it is a complete consequence of quick thinking on Sergeant Sagara’s part. Entangled with daytime yakuza, Kaname has landed in trouble while standing up for herself. The haphazard costume proves useful enough in neutralizing the enemy that Sousuke decides to enhance it later at his leisure.
The upgraded suit boasts bullet proof protection that can stop even a rifle, full view visualization via visual sensors and monitors in the head, and the ability to be armed with nearly any conventional small-arms. After seeing the potential that the suit has, Sousuke has the Bonta-Kun suit mass produced. The Miami, Florida Police Department buys some, but Sagara is left with the rest. Its overall usefulness is proven the world over in at least two instances: a gang raid (led by the Sergeant himself) and in a drug bust in Miami.
Further enhancements are introduced in the comedic spin-off of the series manga, FMP Overload. The first appearance as the Bon-T 01 unit is complete with internal Artificial Intellegence is enhanced for physical fitness therapy radio valisthenics, grueling mental elaboration and intense military training programs. However 10 times the normal speed, stimulating electrodes and forced sleeping were not enough to save it from suffering a malfunction when exposed to the underwater resistance training! Bonta-Kun (Ver. 2.0) debuts as a more friendly model with high hopes of enthralling children of nursery room age, failing miserably in its mission as the children take more of a liking to its creator than the suit itself. Bon-T 04 is the latest model upgrade employed in an effort to make Jindai High School into an Autonomous Region is upset by Sergeant Weber’s opposing army of Bon-T 00 “Black Dog” models. The “Black Dog” arose during construction of the old B Series, fine-tuning their design for special ops.—MIZ
