Coach Kogure

s02e02x136.jpg He’s the closest thing Sousuke has to a drill instructor on school grounds… however, Coach Kogure is a landmine short of an obstacle course. No where near an ally for our misguided field sergeant in dire need of direction, Sousuke’s antics interrupt the ebb and flow of the Coach’s day and the accumulation of such faults has begrudged the educational leader against Sousuke; showing itself in flamboyant hatred.

In a similar fashion to a drill instructor, Coach is quite harsh on Sousuke to the point of making others pay for the haphazard behavior as well. However, this militant characteristic personified ends up earning himself Sousuke’s utmost respect in direct response to the criticism. This respect is mistakenly taken by Coach as smart-aleck attempts to belittle. As a Drill Instructor is a guide for welfare, behavior, militant well-being and a valuable teacher to our confused undercover student Sousuke sincerely regards all words with a salute and humility. The reward for such behavior, the health teacher meticulously tracks Sousuke’s every move, never forgets a single grievance, evaluates, corrects and continuously mentors… really, he’s exactly what Sousuke needs.

But this once in a lifetime chance to calm our turbulent tactician only ends in tears. Coach’s plan to teach the Sergeant an unforgettable lesson ends up backfiring when Sousuke, unaware that Coach Kogure is the culprit (Sousuke surely would have taken the responsibility himself out of respect and intimidation had he known), catches on to the random tampering with the student-run lunch stand sale items and takes corrective action. The result hospitalizes the gym teacher and closes the chapter on his brief and only appearance thus far in the series.—Miz
