Leonard Testarossa
Gauron reveals that Leonard is a Whispered and working for Amalgam willingly and holds a high position in the organization and is called Mr. Silver. It is believed that his knowledge is centralized in AS development as well as incorporation of the Lambda Driver in these suits. It is believed that he is the one responsible for the development of the Codarl, Venom and the Alastors. The Alastors are miniature AS units that can think and operate on their own without any outside assistance not including orders. They are fast and relentless in their objective and eliminate anyone or anything in their way.
Suave and cold in his demeanor he makes a rather un-welcomed meeting with Kaname Chidori after her fight with Xia Yu Lan. Demonstrating that he is just as cold as the rain around him, he orders the execution of the young assassin right in front of Kaname’s eyes. Continuing his show by blasting and down playing Sousuke’s own response to the same situation. Kaname offered some resistance while trying to defend the very person who protected her for so long but Leonard’s words shake Kaname’s own resolve to Sousuke. Taking things further Leonard takes an unwelcome advance by kissing Kaname and stealing her first kiss. Leonard leaves the scene promptly saying that he has fallen in love with her, making his intentions very clear and very dangerous.
Leonard does not make another appearance until the early events of Continuing on My Own where he startles both Kaname and Sousuke with a very real warning. Leonard warns them that Amalgam is through playing games and is going to destroy Mithril and take Kaname by force. He does however offer an easy solution with Kaname just leaving with him and again declaring his love for her. Viewing Sousuke as nothing more than a fly Leonard informs Kaname of how many people Sousuke has killed in his life. Information that makes Kaname vary and fearful of Sousuke and what he is capable of doing. That little doubt was the domino effect that would end everything.
Throughout that day Sousuke fights to the bitter end to protect his home and Kaname but it is a losing war no matter how hard he tries. Leonard’s makes his final and deadly appearance with the introduction of his personal AS suit known as Belial.
The suit establishes its own power by decimating the Arbalest in a manner of seconds. Leonard, to make things final, makes Kaname announce that she is leaving him and in Belial’s hand Sousuke watches Kaname leave to save his life.
Leonard throughout Burning One Man Force and Come Make My Day is not only trying to get rid of Sousuke once and for all but operates on an agenda different from Amalgam. As a result both Mithril and Amalgam want him eliminated once and for all. However, things take a different course when in a situation to force Kaname to stay with him she accidentally shoots him. Forced to leave with him because of her guilt Leonard is not seen until the latest novel titled Nick of Time.
In this case the calm and cold Leonard is gone and out comes a more emotional and unstable Leonard. His goals are still unclear but he wants to return the world to what it would be without the Black Technology in the world. During the novel Leonard encounters Sousuke in his new ARX-8 and the two are now equally matched in the fight. The first time is a draw but the second time Sousuke damages Leonard’s suit. Sousuke is forced to withdraw when reinforcements arrive, however, Leonard is still somewhat shaken that Sousuke could deal this blow to his ego.
Cold, calculating and quick thinking Leonard is a man to not underestimate. Where Sousuke excels in weapons, strength and combat experience Leonard’s skills rely on cunning and strategic manipulation of the situation around him.
